Our office has worked with administrative units throughout the University to develop record retention and purging guidance for the most common business documents generated by the University. The guidance takes into consideration existing practices, in particular practices developed to comply with legal or policy requirements, as well as the evolving landscape of data generation, retention, and purging. This guidance is primarily intended to assist you with managing the large volume of documents generated in the usual course of business on a day-to-day basis.Records Retention Schedule
Please consult with the Office of Archives and Records Management in Bloomington or the Ruth Lilly Special Collections & Archives in Indianapolis regarding management practices for documents of historical significance to the University or for academic and scholarly records.
